Jiwan Giri
Jiwan is currently working as a Clinical Project Manager for SAIC-Frederick, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC, based in Maryland, USA. SAIC-Frederick is speeding the delivery of new technologies and treatments to patients with cancer and AIDS. Jiwan works within the Clinical Monitoring Research Program (CMRP) which mission is to extend an important facet of clinical research support for the National Institute of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI). Jiwan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI), holds a Masters degree in Project Management from George Washington University, and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Webber College, FL. He is a member of Project Management Institute (PMI), PMI Washington DC Chapter, and PMI Health Special Interests Group. Prior to joining SAIC-Frederick, Jiwan worked may different organizations covering non-profit, academics, private sectors as a educator, trainer, consultant, researcher, project and program manager.
Jiwan, as a Native of Nepal has played a key role in the growth and success of the Himanchal Education Foundation. While working as a manager at the International Center for Applied Studies in Information Technology (ICASIT), George Mason University Jiwan managed to obtain a large amount of seed money from Prof. Steve Ruth, Director of the Center to support many educational, e-commerce, telemedicine, and wireless initiatives started by the Himanchal Education Foundation. Jiwan has contributed his time and effort to support underprivileged people living in rural and remote villages of Nepal.
Jiwan is one of the board members of the Himanchal Education Foundation and closely working within the areas of health, education, economic development, and wireless projects in Nepal. He is also a founder of Knowledge to Share, a nonprofit organization aiming to promote/exchange intellectual ideas, knowledge, and skills in technology transfer in the developing world. His foundation is keen to help bridge the gaps that exist within/across developed and developing countries in the areas of technology, education, health, and economic development. He is currently living in Fairfax, VA with his wife and two lovely children Alisha and Alish.
